Healthcare reform is not just on the horizon, it is already here. No amount of politicking or litigating at the federal level will change this. It is critical that neuropsychologists/psychologists understand the health system transformation that is occurring nationwide and in New York State. Regardless of whether you practice in an institution, clinic, or private office, and regardless of how you are reimbursed, healthcare reform will impact the way you practice.

The purpose of this Summit on Healthcare Reform is to familiarize neuropsychologists/ psychologists with the landscape of healthcare reform, to provide information about impending changes to medical and mental health service delivery, and to demonstrate strategies to make a smooth transition to the new healthcare system.

The experts presenting at this summit will provide you with:

1. An overview of healthcare reform concepts developing nationally and locally.
2. Information on how healthcare reform has already changed the practices of neuropsychologists in other states.
3. Pragmatic and up-to-date information to assist all practicing neuropsychologists/psychologists with how to survive and thrive during the health system transformation.
4. An understanding of what needs to happen beyond your office/institution doors to survive the transition to new systems of healthcare delivery.
